Mobile 3D gaming potentials

Two interesting articles about mobile 3D game development appeared lately on IntoMobile and TouchArcade.

They are somewhat summarizing the actual tendencies and development directions in the field, and also giving a nice set of examples illustrating the state of the art.

Roughly, two things are happening. Phones are becoming more and more capable of running real quake-likes (30fps seen in nature, check out the IntoMobile article), and new technologies aiming to facilitate this kind of projects emerge. On the other hand (TouchArcade says), augmented reality seems to gain in confidence regarding mobile devices, which, with the iPhone frenzy and all that comes along, might just be the vehicle it needs to propose playful and accessible warmups for the time to come.

Even with limited virtual reality capabilities (immersion?), there is no doubt that the mobile world  will follow, and even try to make things move. Finally, it makes everything move, doesn't it?
